This March I caught up on some r&r via a trip across the pond. I LOVE traveling. And nothing beats a working‐vacation (okay, except a vacation without work). Spending time with friends along the way made this trip even better.
The hubby and I landed in Edinburgh, Scotland first. If you have never been, GO. Go now. And leave something crucial to your existence at home or you may never have reason or desire to use the other half of that round-trip ticket. It’s that cool. Scottish people are some of the kindest and most hospitable individuals anywhere. The scenery is astoundingly beautiful, the architecture amazing, and the food is yum.
Even haggis! I swear.
After Scotland, we headed on to England and France with a last stop in Rome. All by train‐ another must do experience. Train-travel is different across the globe but there is still something very old-world elegant about it. And it’s a welcome change to driving for those of us that motor on a regular basis. No TSA checking that you aren’t carrying more fluids than allowed is also a huge plus. So feel free to indulge in that full size bottle of shampoo!
